Become an Assistant Tutor at Upstage!
For ages 15+
Love drama? Love working with kids? Keen to learn what really happens on the other side of the rehearsal room?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable young people aged 15 and over to join our 2026 team as Assistant Tutors. This is a wonderful opportunity for performers who want to grow their leadership skills, gain experience in the arts, and be mentored by our teaching team.
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room or the most experienced performer. You do need to bring kindness, initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn.
What Assistant Tutors do
Assistant Tutors support our classes by:
helping run warm-ups and drama games
supporting younger students as they create characters and stories
assisting with classroom management
demonstrating activities
helping set up and pack down
modelling positive, brave, generous ensemble behaviour
learning basic directing and stagecraft skills
being part of the creative and rehearsal process
It’s hands-on, practical, confidence-building experience in a real working drama studio.
