UpStage Youth Theatre was formed in 2002 as a response to a need for a drama group for young people in the Maitland area.

It was established by Ann Croger and Andrew Coates, a local couple with three young children who are dedicated to the dramatic arts.

Ann has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Drama and a Diploma in Education and Andrew has a Master of Arts and a Diploma in Education.

Together Ann and Andrew have over 20 years of drama teaching experience between them.
